Shaan Shah - Secretary General

Shaan Shah

Secretary-General

Shaan Shah serves as the President and Secretary-General of TFSSMUN III and is currently in his final year of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. His journey in Model United Nations began in Grade 10, and since then, MUN has become a major part of his high school experience. He has served as a Director for TFSSMUN since its inaugural iteration and currently continues his work in MUN as a Director for Markham Model United Nations. Beyond MUN, Shaan serves as an Ambassador for Queen’s University’s Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Development Conferences and is actively involved in various childcare and community initiatives. Outside of his commitments, he enjoys swimming, dancing, playing badminton, and listening to Malcolm Todd and Kali Uchis. As he enters his third year with TFSSMUN, Shaan is incredibly excited to lead the Secretariat and bring TFSSMUN III to life. He hopes to make this year’s conference an experience that delegates, staff, and directors will remember long after the final gavel.

Joey Poretta - Director-General

Director-General

Joey is in grade 11, though he has been involved in Model UN since grade 11. Joey has served in numerous delegate and staffing roles: as ASG of Crisis at HarvardMUN Canada and ASG of Crisis at TFSSMUN II, to name a few. His interest in Model UN is driven by his passions, in politics, history, and ethics. He also deeply likes wargaming — and cats. Joey is thrilled to serve as Director-General, wishing to make this conference a positive learning experience for all delegates.

Tanay - Chief of Staff

Chief of Staff & USG of Outreach

Tanay is a Grade 12 International Baccalaureate student at Turner Fenton Secondary School, currently serving as the Chief of Staff and Under-Secretary-General of Outreach for TFSSMUN. He has been involved in Model United Nations for the past three years, previously serving as USG of Committees and as a Committee Director at TFSSMUN II. MUN has been a core part of Tanay’s high school experience, giving him the opportunity to develop his leadership and public speaking skills while meeting countless new friends. Outside of MUN, Tanay enjoys going on sunset walks, playing guitar, and listening to Kanye West, Tory Lanez, and Don Toliver.

Nechal Mann - USG Logistics

Nehchal is a Grade 11 International Baccalaureate student at Turner Fenton Secondary School and is excited to serve as the Under-Secretary-General of Logistics for TFSSMUN 2026. Through her involvement in MUN and her experiences within her school community, she has grown to enjoy working with others, taking on new challenges, and pursuing leadership opportunities. Outside of academics and MUN, she enjoys playing basketball, painting, travelling, and spending time with friends and family. Nehchal looks forward to working alongside the Operations Team to help ensure TFSSMUN 2026 runs smoothly and provides an enjoyable experience for all delegates.

Harshjot - USG of Finance

Harshjot currently serves as the Under-Secretary-General of Finance for TFSSMUN. He is an IB Diploma student in his final year at Turner Fenton Secondary School. Throughout his time at school, he has taken on several finance-focused leadership roles, developing a strong passion for business and economics. He looks forward to bringing his experience and interests to the Secretariat this year. Outside of academics, Harshjot enjoys playing video games and has a strong interest in cars. He is excited to bring his enthusiasm and experience to TFSSMUN and help make this year’s conference an amazing experience for all participants.

USG of Media & Marketing

Ava is thrilled to be serving as the Under-Secretary-General of Media & Marketing for TFSSMUN 2026. Currently, she is a Grade 11 International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme student at Turner Fenton Secondary School, where she has developed a strong passion for creativity, storytelling, and visually connecting communities. Whether capturing moments of excitement through her camera or designing elements that leave lasting impressions, Ava loves finding ways to showcase the experiences and memories behind an event. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading fantasy and thought-provoking books, volunteering, and going on walks with her friends. Ava cannot wait to help highlight and capture the memories created at this year’s MUN!

Krish - USG of Media

USG of Media

Krish serves as the Under-Secretary-General of Media for TFSSMUN III at Turner Fenton Secondary School. Through his involvement in various school initiatives, he has developed a strong passion for storytelling, media, and visual communication. His experiences with Turner Media, Athletic Council, and Culturefest have allowed him to develop skills in videography, photography, editing, and promotional content. He looks forward to using his creativity and experience to help capture and showcase the memorable moments of TFSSMUN III.

Vedha - USG of Crisis

USG of Crisis

Vedha serves as the Under-Secretary-General of Crisis for TFSSMUN. She is a Grade 12 student in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme with two years of Model United Nations experience. Outside of MUN, Vedha is a founder, multi-sport athlete, and artist. She runs BlueKnot, an organization dedicated to supporting neurodivergent individuals, while also pursuing her love of sketching and writing poetry. Vedha is thrilled to bring her passion for debate, storytelling, and high-stakes diplomacy to the Crisis track this year!

Saanjh Vyas - USG of GAs

Saanjh is a Grade 11 student at Turner Fenton Secondary School who has been involved in Model UN for several years. She has previously served as a Director and Education Head at TFSSMUN and has loved experiencing MUN from both a delegate and staff perspective. Outside of MUN, Saanjh loves dancing, playing sports, and competing in clubs like DECA, along with taking part in various other extracurriculars. She is excited to bring some of the most memorable GAs TFSSMUN has ever seen and make this year’s conference an experience delegates won’t forget!

Neeti Brahmbhatt - USG of Creative Design

Neeti serves as the Under-Secretary-General of Creative Design within TFSSMUN. As an International Baccalaureate student, she has developed a strong interest in architecture, engineering, and creative design, and enjoys finding ways to combine creativity with technology and problem-solving. Beyond academics, she is passionate about leadership and community involvement and has participated in various initiatives that have allowed her to develop her skills in design, communication, and collaboration. Outside of school and MUN, she enjoys dancing, volunteering, working on creative projects, and exploring her interests in architecture and design.

Akshara Brahmbhatt - USG of Technology

Akshara is a Grade 11 International Baccalaureate student at Turner Fenton Secondary School and has been involved in Model United Nations since Grade 9 as both a staff and secretariat. As a member of every TFSSMUN iteration since its inaugural conference, she is excited to continue being part of the conference’s growth and help bring TFSSMUN III to life. Outside of MUN, Akshara is usually coding, working on research projects, mentoring younger students, or building something new. Whether she is collaborating with a team or picking up a new skill, she enjoys staying busy, taking on new challenges, and learning along the way.

Dhriti Desai - USG of Technology

Dhriti Desai

Dhriti is a Grade 11 student at Turner Fenton Secondary School. She has been involved in Model UN for 1 year. As USG of Technology, she is excited to contribute to making TFSSMUN 2026 an engaging and seamless experience for all delegates. Passionate about STEM, she enjoys programming and robotics. Some other things she enjoys doing are skiing, paddle-boarding, and hiking. She is looking forward to bringing her enthusiasm and ideas to the Secretariat and helping make TFSSMUN the best conference it can be!

Jyotsana - Junior Secretariat

Jyotsna Balasubramanian

Junior Secretariat

Jyotsna will be serving as a Junior Secretariat member for TFSSMUN 2027. As a Grade 10 student in the International Baccalaureate Programme, she enjoys writing, researching, and exploring global issues both inside and outside the classroom. Through volunteering at local nonprofits and writing for her school’s political journal, she has developed a passion for global politics, community advocacy, and communications. Outside of MUN, you’ll probably find her listening to Brent Faiyaz, perfecting her iced coffee recipe, or playing piano.
